Deciding on a name
The next thing to do was figure out what we wanted to call our selves, a lot of names came up, even the idea of not being a shed but a group, but after a bit of tooing and frooing, we all came up with Mna agus Cairde an T-Aonaigh (which is Irish for Women and Friends of Nenagh (Shed).
We decided to go with an Irish name and we aren't the only Women's Shed in Ireland that decided to use Irish in their name.
Now we are aware that it's a mouthful, and heck some of us can't even pronounce it, but it's our name, and we love it. It's on all our posts on social media, and our official documents, with Shed in brackets until the day we officially become one.
Being a Shed, it seems comes with more paper work, and planning, something our committee isn't shy of getting to grips with. They are a wonderful bunch of women, and with the help of the NTDC, they have come on leaps and bounds.
