Why a Women's Shed?
"I had seen other sheds around Nenagh going well and I thought it's something I'd like to get involved in as there was nothing in Nenagh...so I advertised on fb months back to get feedback from local women if there would be an interest...and I got a great response." - Michelle White Chair Person the Women and Friends of Nenagh (shed)
All involved wanted to create a space where women could go and have tea, coffee and chats while doing some activities such as Art, Knitting, Crochet and other things such as Zumba, Meditation, Security Talks, Meditation to name a few.
With that all in mind, the women went about trying to get the group off the ground, which they managed to do in November 2024, with meetings in the Silver Arch on Silver Street, Nenagh before they settled on a room in the NTDC in the Old Jobs Club, on Friars Court.
As they dreamed, and with a lot of work, the Shed went from strength to strength, with the Women and Friends of Nenagh (Shed) becoming a much needed and appreciated haven for the women of Nenagh.
